WORLD RENOWNED BULGARIAN OPERA SINGERS ARE RAISING SUPPORT FOR BULGARIA'S ABANDONED AND DISABLED CHILDREN

K.A.R.I.N.A. Association is a 501 (C)(3) national and international registered nonprofit organization with programs for abandoned and disabled children in the U.S.A., and Eastern Europe (Bulgaria).  

K.A.R.I.N.A. enables and supports parents with special needs children to live full and productive lives through their children's active inclusion, participation and contribution within the community and farther afield.

K.A.R.I.N.A.'s goal is to give the parents REST from their daily responsibilities with Expressive Arts Therapy -- artmaking for emotional, physical, mental, spiritual and social health. Families affected by disability can have respite afternoons or a week of vacation, and at the same time their children can enjoy all kinds of activities. We will be focusing on speech development and socialization of teens and young adults (10 years old +). We would like to provide support with short break care, specialist education and therapy, and also leisure opportunities for the parents.

Our Mission is:

To improve the quality of life and provide equal opportunities to children and young adults who are abandoned or with disabilities through professional services, advocacy, and by raising public awareness.

Our Vision is:

To help establish community based services which work towards the best available practices by supporting and collaborating with all interested parties.

To provide community-based support and services for disabled children and their families, instead of segregating and isolating those whose families have difficulty taking care of them.

To disseminate information about best practices and available services.

To provide support and training for parents of disabled children.

To promote emotional and spiritual growth through mutually supportive friendships, shared experiences and valued roles. 

To raise public awareness about the needs of abandoned and disabled children around the world.
